Systems Engineer I

Pay rate range - $40/hr. to $43/hr. on W2
5 days in office

Required:
1. Experience with Infrastructure as Code (such as CDK, CloudFormation)
2. Experience in a programming language such as Python.
3. Knowledge of AWS Services such as SQS, SNS, ECS, Lambda, and CloudWatch.
4. Provide support for incoming tickets, including troubleshooting tasks, features, and services
5. Monitoring of production systems to ensure optimal health.
6. Understands platform architecture (at a high level), and troubleshooting techniques/documentation
7. Experience in analyzing CloudWatch logs.
 
Degree or Certification:
Bachelors Degree required

The successful engineer in this role will:
1) Monitor and troubleshoot incidents
2)Provide support of incoming tickets, including troubleshooting tasks, features and services
3) Monitoring of production systems to ensure optimal health.
4) Understands platform architecture (at a high level), and troubleshooting techniques
5) Possess superb troubleshooting, project management, and problem analysis skills.
6) Drive technical innovation and efficiency in infrastructure operations via automation.
6) Design monitoring and management solutions using automation and self-repair.
8) Create processes that enhance operational workflow and provide a positive customer impact.
9) Dive deep to resolve problems at their root, looking for failure patterns amenable to long-term solutions via simplification and automation.
10) Avoid re-inventing the wheel and prefer appropriately simple, repeatable solutions over more complex and failure-prone ones.
11) Recognize and adopt best practices in documentation, testing, security, operational support at scale, and efficient use of resources.
12) Develop appropriate metrics to demonstrate performance in improving operational efficiency.

Core Requirements:
In-depth knowledge of & experience with Infrastructure as Code (such as CDK, CloudFormation)
Knowledge on AWS Services such as SQS, SNS, ECS, Lambda, and CloudWatch.
Relentless passion for frugality and out-of-the-box engineering.
Strong system troubleshooting skills.
Proficiency and experience in automation via Perl/Python programming and shell scripting.
Good understanding of standard internet protocols (Ethernet, ARP, IP, ICMP, UDP, TCP, SSL, DNS, HTTP, etc.)
Demonstrable grasp of security best practices in server configuration, tool development, and access controls.
Experience in building SQL queries.
