Summary:
The main function of a design engineer is to research and develop ideas for new products and systems. The typical design engineer will perform varius tasks including creating test prototypes and overseeing manufacturing processes.

Product Design Engineer
• Contribute to mechanical solutions as part of a highly cross-functional team
• Model, build, test, and refine prototypes and characterization test systems
• Work across the full product development cycle, from concept inception to shipping product
• Model 3D parts to execute various design solutions around a similar concept.
• Draft 2D CAD documentation for manufacturing process and quality control.
• Perform tolerance analysis to validate design feasibility and control part variability.
• Collaborate on work with Asia-based Supply Chain

Minimum Qualifications
• BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent industry experience
• Experience in Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), statistical tolerance analysis techniques, functional dimensioning, GD&T, and 3D/2D CAD
• Working knowledge in material properties, such as plastics, metal, adhesive, and glass
• Testing and analysis experience (FEA, Simulation, Design of Experiments, etc.)
• Knowledge of high-volume manufacturing techniques (stamping, machining, 3D printing, injection molding, etc.)

Top 3 must-have HARD skills:
1 3D CAD fluency (NX required)
2 Experience in 2D Drafting parts for manufacturing release (GD&T) and working through DFM changes with vendors
3 Excellent communication skills through Slide decks
4. At least 2 plus years and Bach required
Good to have skills:
1 Experience in high volume manufacturing
2 Experience designing parts for injection molding
3 Experience with integrated electronics
