Position Summary
Responsible for the buildout and creation of the Retail Training team (RTT) new project management architecture on Microsoft Project. Once built, this contract role is responsible for the initial daily management and upkeep of this project management system, and will handle the oversight of accomplishing project objectives by planning and evaluating project activities as assigned. Project management of the training components of our largest events including, the National Retail Meeting (NRM), Consumer Electronics Show (CES), and our annual Holiday Meeting. This contract six-month role is responsible for creating a standardized cadence for working across multiple functions to ensure superior project management and project progression for the entire Retail Training team. This role will also coordinate with client to define RTT’s project management activities and track defined milestones and deadlines of tasks for internal initiatives. This role requires intensive, daily interaction with all members of RTT to resolve day-to-day issues related to tasks assigned to team members and ensure tasks assigned get completed by the deadline, in order to maintain the brand. Problems and issues faced with can be vague, and require reasoning of broader set of issues and variables to identify root cause within job area. Applies in-depth advanced knowledge and skills of a specific/specialized technical area with understanding of external environment factors that may affect own specialist area. Provides expert advice, coaching and counseling within particular discipline/function area. This newly created contract role will leverage your skills to collaborate, influence, and drive accountability for all involved to keep all major projects and initiatives on track. This contract role reports to the Senior Manager – Training Strategy Architecture, within the Retail Training team.

Common Essentials/Duties and Responsibilities
• Assess the needs, develop the architecture and manage the upkeep of a new project management system on Microsoft Project for the entire Retail Training team
• Train the Training Strategy Architecture team (inside Retail Training) on this new project management system, after testing for bugs and continue to refine system for improvements
• Responsible for the overall effectiveness of the Project Management function
• Develop and manage project definition and direction in conjunction with the business owners and other related departments.
• Create work back schedules with Managers on all teams inside RTT for tasks/projects/video shoots and is responsible for inputting these detailed tasks into our project management system, guiding them on prioritizing tasks and training intake requests
• Develop and manage project budgets, charters and timelines and attain signoff from all key stakeholders. Verify with cross-functional management the resources needed to meet project objectives.
• Handle risk management of major projects, events and launches by creating a SWOT analysis and report to Senior Managers on potential solutions to mitigate risks, monthly
• Monitor overall task performance of all team members in RTT, taking pro-active steps to minimize issues. If/when issues arise, ensure they are resolved in a timely manner, in accordance with RTT and company goals.
• Communicate daily with internal key stakeholders inside RTT to provide accountability on tasks assigned stay on track and update the project management system accordingly on task progress
• Maintain constant communication between various project work stream leaders and address issues as they arise. Anticipate potential high-risk project steps and heighten awareness of the project status and potential risks, as needed.
• Provide routine status updates to the project team and management.
• Ad hoc projects and analysis, as requested. Responsible for solving routine or standard technical problems and responds to training requests from internal and external partners.
• Makes decisions within guidelines and policies.
• Responsible for driving training deliverables in current projects and various ad hoc projects assigned
• Serves as a key leader for the business in driving project activity and managing expectations with key stakeholders and is accountable for the contributions of the project management team of Retail Training.
• Create detailed, written hand-off guide of the new project management system upon completion of this contract position that includes training how-to on major functions of maintaining this tool and best practices for optimum use

Background/Experience
• Bachelor's Degree with 8-10 years of directly related experience is required
• Highly proficient project management skills required and have previous experience building project management systems from scratch in Microsoft Project is required
• Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools. Experience with Microsoft Project and Asana are required and a familiarity of Confluence/Jira is preferred.
• Experience with planning and organizing multiple, complex assignments, large-scale events, and/or projects is preferred
• Ability to clearly communicate with multiple levels of the organization required
• Prior experience in the telecommunications industry or in large-scale technology companies is preferred
• Proficient in MS Office products including Word, PowerPoint and Excel

Necessary Skills and Attributes
Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with all assigned levels within the Retail Training team and cross-functionally inside the company. Plan, organize, and prioritize multiple complex assignments and projects. Demonstrated competency in both oral and written communication modes
for both internal and external personnel at various levels, especially with training content creation team, video team, field delivery, channel management, retail strategy, product, and marketing teams. Work independently and in a team environment in order to achieve personal and team goals and complete
assignments within established time frames. Detail-oriented and organized person with a positive mindset who is open to collaboration and creative brainstorming. Demonstrated excellence in time management skills and follow up to ensure meeting on time deliverables. The ability to accept tasks and problems/situations that differ and require creativity to search for solutions among learned challenges. Only broad and general guidelines exist for solving problems and project management. The ability to utilize implied knowledge of task alternatives and collaborate with the Senior Manager of Training Strategy Architecture to guide them to make sound decisions using past experience. Demonstrate ability to
interact with senior levels within the organization using clear and professional communication skills.
