Qualifications
• Candidates for consideration should have a bachelor's degree in biological, biochemistry, engineering or chemical science with minimum 4 years of experience or MS degree with 2+years or PhD with 0-1 year of experience in running PCR, enzyme reactions and/or analytical assays,
• The successful candidate will have hands on experience with laboratory automation techniques (especially Biomek or Tecan liquid handling systems) and/or in various analytical methods (HPLC, LC-MS, spectrophotometry, gel electrophoresis, FPLC).
• Ideally experience in analyzing biological (microbial) samples by HPLC.
• Software Skills: MS office (Word/Excel)

Required Experiences and Skills:
• High-throughput screening and automated liquid handling
• Chemical and biochemical solution and reaction preparation
• Understanding of experimental design and data analysis principles
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent teamwork and multitasking
• Good documentation of experimental reports

Preferred Experience and Skills:
• HPLC and LC-MS experience, particularly with Agilent systems.
• Experience in protein characterization and purification.
• Experience in molecular biology and/or protein expression platforms (cell-free, microbial, yeast, bacillus, mammalian) is a plus
• Industry exp. is preferred.

Job Description – Biochemistry contractor
The Protein Engineering group at Client is seeking an experienced researcher to support our biochemistry capabilities.
• The primary mission of the group is to design and engineer enzymes, therapeutic proteins/peptides to enable drug discovery and development.
• This position in our biochemistry team is responsible for manipulating DNA to produce enzymes in cell-free or E. coli expression systems, setting up reactions using the enzyme preparation as a catalyst solution, quenching reactions and prepping them for HPLC or MS analysis, and analyzing the data generated in support of our protein directed evolution workflow.
